Martin Wilks

Martin has come from wide variety of positions from within the Australian Video Game industry. Initially beginning as a Sales Rep with Village Roadshow in the early days of the video game boom, back in 1995, martin progressed to become the State Manager for Sony in Victoria. In 1999 Martin moved to Sydney to setup the operations for PCGamer Australia which is the number 1 PC title. Following the sale of PCGamer to Sydney publishers, Martin joined the eMAX group and was responsible for Telstra's early moves into the gaming market. Managing customers such as Microsoft and Products ; PlayNOW! And Wireplay, was instrumental in securing PlayNOW! As the games channel in the release of Internet Explorer 4.

Since then Martin has advised to companies including STOMP, SHOCK and Electric Factory.

Martin has also been a member of the Film Victoria Digital Media Fund evaluation committee that has funded a large number of Interactive Projects.

Martin is also the owner and operator of the well established Gig: Get Into Games events that have assisted Universities such as Ballarat and Deakin with events to present their game courses to students and the like.

Martin is now the Sales and Business Manager at Firelight Technologies, that are the makers of FMOD, one of the most widely used Interactive Audio Middleware Solutions for the Video Game and associative industries.
